| If you are coming from the south, the best way is to head for the M60 in an easterly direction as far as junction 14 when you take the M61 signposted Preston and Bolton. you must then move over to the right hand lanes to follow the signs for Bolton - A666. Stay on this road until you come to a junction signposted Bury A579 & Bolton South and turn towards Bury. After 3.2 miles turn left at traffic lights by the Ainsworth Arms Pub, following signs for Ainsworth. At the next set of traffic lights with the Rose & Crown facing you go straight across the cross roads with the pub on your left. A further three miles along this road brings you into the village of Affetside and Mum's Harris is the first property on the right after having entered the 30 mph zone. | |
| On the other hand if you are coming from the north, leave the M61 at Junction 6 turning towards Horwich. Go straight on at the roundabout and lights associated with the Reebock Stadium and at the T junction roundabout by the Beehive Pub turn right towards Bolton and at the first set of traffic lights turn left onto the Bolton Inner Ring Road. Stay on this road until the fourth set of traffic lights and then turn left onto the road for Burnley. At the next set of lights keep to the right and at the next set, by St. Maxentius Church, continue straight on. You will then come to another set of lights controlling the entry to Morrisons on the right but you should take the left turn into Tottington Road. Follow the road to the top of the hill where it bends sharply left before coming to a tee junction. Turn left and Mum's Harris is the first property on the right after entering the 30 mph zone. | |
